A government assassin is betrayed by his boss and finds himself in hell after his death. Sworn to revenge, he agrees to be resurrected and lead the devil's hordes in a final apocalyptic battle to take over the world. Another caped crusader emerges from the kingdom of comicbooks to stalk the big screen in a noisy live-action baroque spectacular. This one boasts the dark grandeur of Burton's Batman (which it shamelessly emulates), the grim urban ambience of The Crow and more firepower than a Nintendo addict's nightmare. It also has a demonic shape-shifting clown.
What it doesn't have is much of a plot.
