Review
Anderson plays a drifter who is accused of murder after he finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Having little faith in his own ability to talk himself out of trouble, he hightails it out of Mexico where the crime took place and hitches a ride with odd couple Lithgow and Arquette. But his deliverance is short-lived and prison begins to look like the soft option compared to being a passenger on the detour to hell. McBride's efforts to combine a modern noir thriller with a killer-on-the-lam road movie is marred by his insistence on playing it all on one shrill note.
