Poison

Poison

Synopsis

Three tales of murder and lust explored by the director of Velvet Goldmine.

About

Haynes, whose short film Superstar played out the life of Karen Carpenter with Barbie dolls, shows similar inventiveness in Poison, which weaves together three stories based on writings by Genet. 'Hero' is a documentary-style investigation into why a seven-year-old boy killed his father. 'Horror' takes the form of a Cold War B-movie as a scientist's experiments into the human sex-drive transform him into a hideously disfigured psycho, while 'Homo' examines the lascivious desires of a convict for his fellow prison inmate.
