Synopsis

An angst ridden tattoo artist falls for a model and is convinced she should bear his 'mark' for the rest of her life

About

Crazed tattooist Karl Kinsky (Dern) has designs on his model Maddy (Adams). So he drugs her, drags her back to his lair in New Jersey, and shows her his etchings – which are all over his body. While she's still under the influence, he transforms her into a work of art, needling curlicues into her skin – then he rapes her. Even all this pales into insignificance compared to the nastiness of the ending.
