Star-spangled, drug-addled whoring fame-seekers; lesbians; 'ludes and lots of sex all go to make up Meyer's divine satirical comedy. Co-scripted by the respected US film critic Roger Ebert (which one wag has referred to as being "perhaps akin to Barry Norman having penned the script to a Carry On film in his early career"), this was the director's first movie for a major studio.
