Film4 have bagged a total of six Bafta nominations, including Outstanding British Film for Sam Taylor-Wood's
Nowhere Boy and Lead Actress for Saoirse Ronan's performance as Susie Salmon in Peter Jackson's
The Lovely Bones.
Nowhere Boy has picked up four nominations including Outstanding Debut for director Sam Taylor-Wood and two Supporting Actress nominations for Anne-Marie Duff and Kristin Scott-Thomas.
Nowhere Boy tells the true story of a conflicted young John Lennon, growing up as part of his aunt Mimi's household, only to find out his vivacious young mum is living just five minute's walk away.
The Lovely Bones received two Bafta nominations - Lead Actress for Saoirse Ronan, and Supporting Actor for Stanley Tucci, in a role as creepy serial killer, Mr Harvey, that also saw him nominated for a Golden Globe.
The Lovely Bones is based on Alice Sebold's best-selling novel, which Film4 originally optioned and developed before teaming up with with Peter Jackson's Wingnut Films, DreamWorks and Paramount.
