Welcome to Film4
The Film4 channel is available for free to everyone with digital TV. A daily line-up of great movies guarantees a choice for every type of film fan. We showcase a wide range of titles, including the best of British film-making, US independent films, Hollywood blockbusters, mainstream drama and comedy, guilty pleasures, foreign films and cult cinema. You'll also find special features, in-depth interviews and exclusive programming.
We don't just show great films - we make them too. Film4 Productions is the feature film commissioning department of Channel 4. We develop and co-finance a slate of smart and distinctive feature films like the Academy Award winning Slumdog Millionaire, Mike Leigh's Happy Go Lucky and Shane Meadows' This Is England. Visit the Film4 Productions section of the site for information, features, interviews and video clips of the films we make.

I've got a comment about this website
We've had a lot of questions about this website, so here are some answers to the more popular ones. If we haven't answered your question here please give us any feedback via the
General Enquiries form, especially if you find something that is broken. We take all your comments onboard, even if we're not able to answer each one individually.
This site doesn't review all new films or DVDs. Why?
We review the biggest films available in the widest range of cinemas, and have an archive of thousands of film reviews covering films going back to 1895's
Train Pulling Into A Station. We may not review all of the films out on general release, but we do review the majority of them. We don't review the special features on DVDs, but if the film itself was reviewed on release, you'll be able to find a review of the film itself. Our latest film reviews will be on the
Explore Films page, and you can find all the others via the search bar at the top of the page, or click on a film in
On TV to see its review. This site focusses on the
Film4 TV channel and
Film4 Productions, because while there are thousands of film review sites out there, there is only one Film4. Being part of Film4 is what makes this site different.
Are you streaming films on this website?
The complicated legal and technical issues around streaming films mean that it's not something we can offer right now, which doesn't mean we won't ever do it. We do show short films from new directors, interviews with stars and directors, and all the latest film trailers. Check them out here.
Where are the foreign/world cinema/independent films?
If you know the name of the film you're looking for, you can search for it in our search box. Alternatively you could look up a foreign film you've enjoyed, and the review page will recommend other films you might like. The Film4 channel airs foreign film and world cinema titles on a regular basis either as part of the schedule or a dedicated season. You will be able to find all about those films on our site. Keep an eye on the Thursday 11am slot for interesting world film recommendations.
